At the Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences at Stockholm University, research and education is conducted in an international environment. The subject areas are Ecology and Evolution, Ecotoxicology, Marine Biology, Plant Physiology and Plant Systematics. Some of the research has direct environmental and societal relevance and the approach is often broad and interdisciplinary. About 140 people are working at the Department, of which ca. 35 are teachers and researchers and 50 are PhD students.
Main responsibilities are molecular laboratory work (DNA-extraction, PCR, preparation for sequencing), ordering of chemicals and material for the lab. The work may also include some minor field work and experimental lab work.
We are looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree, but preferably a master’s degree, in biology; someone who has laboratory experience using molecular methods (DNA-extraction, PCR, sequencing), and who is meticulous and well-organized in the lab.
Terms of employment
This a full-time employment for eight months, with a possibility for extension. Working part-time is also possible, with an extension of the employment accordingly. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually; therefore, please indicate your requested salary. Start date: 2019-03-01 or later.
